Terms of Service

Welcome to Epicurio. By downloading or using the Epicurio app (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. About Epicurio

Epicurio is a personal journaling and intentional living app designed to help you reflect, track desires, capture joys, and grow through guided practices. Epicurio is not a medical application and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition or illness. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Epicurio. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.

3. Your Account

You may use Epicurio anonymously or with an account linked to Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at hello@epicuriodev.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Your Content

All journal entries, reflections, desires, joys, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content") belong to you. We do not claim ownership over Your Content.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features to you (such as generating your weekly insight summary).

You are responsible for Your Content. You agree not to use the App to store or share any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

5. Premium Membership

Epicurio offers a free tier and a premium tier ("Premium"). Premium features may include photo attachments in journal entries, advanced insights, and other benefits as described in the App.

Premium may be obtained through:

Subscription — purchased via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel your subscription in your device's store settings.
Promotional grants — awarded by Epicurio for referrals, milestones, or other promotions. These are time-limited and non-transferable.

All purchases are final unless required by applicable law. Refund requests for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google respectively.

6. Referral Programme

You may earn promotional Premium days by referring new users to Epicurio using your personal referral code. When a new user signs up using your code, both you and the new user receive the specified number of free Premium days.

Referral rewards are applied once per referred user and once per new user account
You may not refer yourself or create multiple accounts to abuse the referral system
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral programme at any time
Referral rewards have no cash value and are non-transferable

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
Use automated means to access or interact with the App
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the App or its servers
Create multiple accounts to abuse the referral programme or any other feature
Use the App to harm yourself or others

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, branding, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by Epicurio and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Use of the App is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epicurio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €10, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting us at hello@epicuriodev.com.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which Epicurio operates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
